Welcome to ICCEDA! It is truly an honor to be a part of such a wonderful association and to serve as your President this year. I will do my best to move this association forward as those before me have done. This organization is one that will help you grow both professionally and personally by having access to colleagues in the contract training arena throughout the state. There is a wide variety of experience and knowledge, so whether you want to share an idea or find out what is working in other parts of the state, please use the resources available.

My goal for this year is to keep the momentum going by doing what I can to facilitate open communication. If you have any suggestions, please share them. We have done many great things in our history and as business needs change, there are many more opportunities that we need to find, create, and put into place.

I would encourage you all to check the website at least monthly to be informed of updates, changes, and new information that will be posted. If there is anything you need, please contact any of the board members. This organization belongs to you as members so it is vital that we work together.

What’s New?

  • The board has been working really hard planning the 2008 conferences, getting educational programs in place, and reviewing and updating the ICCEDA website.
  • A new Board position known as the Public Relations Committee. Ginger Knapp (Elgin) and Rob Westcott (Lakeland) are heading up this committee. The community college contract training area is rich in history and economic development. Unfortunately, we may be the best kept secret in the State! This committee is working with a variety of experts to capture what we do best and to share that throughout the state. We want our customers to see us as the best supplier of training.

According to Peter Drucker, “efficiency is doing things right, but effectiveness is doing the right thing.” I can’t think of a better group of people who do just that!

Best regards,
